To the Public:

I am, like most, saddened by the news of the shooting at Heritage High School. I extend my condolences to those affected by this painful event. Please refer to the artist's statement for the game's intent. For further questions, please contact me here.

In the press I've been getting lately, I have tried to articulate very clearly that Columbine was a "wake up call" not just for our society but for ME in particular as I was once headed down a similar road. I found other outlets such as filmmaking and theater... unfortunately those like Harris, Klebold, and apparently Thomas Solomon, 15, did not.

Shooting at Heritage High in Conyers, Georgia

It's been exactly one month since the Littleton, Colorado incident.  Already, another shooting   has taken place.   This time, a 15 year old upset over a broken romance, opened fire at Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia injuring six students, according to the authorities.

The shots were fired about 20 minutes before school started at Heritage High School.  The alleged gunman is a sophomore there and was quickly taken into custody and at least one weapon was recovered.  The teen is going to be taken to a youth center after processing.

The six injured students from Heritage High were taken to hospitals, where two were treated and released and the other four were in stable condition. The rest of the students gathered outside the school on Heritage High's track after the shooting, then began boarding buses to head home. Classes are canceled Friday, but will resume on Monday in Heritage High School.

The Story at Heritage High

The shots were fired in a common area around 8 a.m., near a cafeteria where some students were eating breakfast.
“Some guy was in front of the girls’ bathroom in the common area, just firing off shots,” said sophomore Bill Price.
At first, students thought it was a prank. “Then people just took off running. Then we looked at one of our friends, and his foot was bleeding,” Price said.
It was “complete pandemonium,” added senior Michael Ramos.
Tony Gray, a Math teacher from Heritage, said the gunman fired four to six shots into a crowd of students, then ran out a side door and surrendered to Assistant Principal Cecil Brinkley.
Student Joe Watts witnessed the interaction between Brinkley and the suspect.
“He stood there with the gun, then dropped to his knees and put it in his mouth like he was going to shoot himself,” Watts said.
“He put the gun down beside him and Assistant Principal Brinkley put his head through the door and said, ‘It’s gonna be all right.’ Then the boy took the gun over and handed it to him, and when he got the gun from him he just put his arm around him and held him and the boy said, ‘Oh my God, I’m so scared, I’m so scared.’”
“As far as I know he was a normal student. No one picked on him,” senior William Britt told ABCNEWS.com about the alleged gunman. “The student wasn’t aiming to kill. All of the victims’ wounds were in the lower body. He didn’t appear to be aiming to kill or kill anyone in particular.”

Authorities believe two weapons — a .22-caliber rifle and a .22-caliber revolver — were used in the shooting.
Wigington said the suspect’s home and school locker will be searched, and all students and staff who might have information related to the case are being interviewed. He also said investigators have no reason to believe explosives were involved.

Injured Heritage High Students are transported to Rockdale Hospital.
Five of the injured were taken to Rockdale Hospital. Students Drake Hoy and Ryan Rosa, both 18, were treated for gunshot wounds and released from the hospital, and three other students — Brian Barnhardt, 16, Jason Cheek, 17, and Cania Collins, 15, were in stable condition and were being admitted for further evaluation, hospital spokeswoman Jennifer Banahan told ABCNEWS.com.
The sixth victim, Stephanie Laster, 15, was taken by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she was in stable condition.
Heritage High has no metal detectors but does employ a campus policeman and has surveillance cameras. The superintendent said significant improvements to security have been made since January.
Heritage High School will be closed Friday, but all other Rockland County schools will be open. The high school will have counselors on hand Friday and Saturday morning.
Shortly after the shooting, President Clinton, who was on his way to Littleton, Colo., said, “This incident again should underscore how profoundly important it is that all Americans come together in the face of these events to protect our children from violence.”
On April 20, two students with guns and bombs killed 13 people before taking their own lives at Columbine High School in Littleton.

Been Taken For Granted? Think how Jesus feels.

No one can ignore Jesus forever

Need a new life? God accepts trade-ins

God will let you get away with it until suddenly . . .

Sin: it seemed like a good idea at the time

Hurting?
No one understands like Jesus

Famous last words: I did it my way

Jesus: Source of all beauty

The great mystery is not unanswered prayer; it’s unfinished prayer

Does it hurt when people don’t trust you?
Imagine how God feels

Hell!  . . . I’d forgotten about that!

People ignore God and then blame him for the chaos that results

Famous last words: I’ll get right with God later

You can fool yourself. You can never fool God

Lonely?
No one understands like Jesus

Hell! I thought I’d gotten away with it!

Have you made God smile today?
